Postage - Paper Prints and unstretched Canvas
Free vs Paid Postage
As a creative artist, Ross de Hoog advocates for a one-time payment for services. He argues that "free" post is not truly free, as the cost has already been factored into the product price. Instead of incorporating postage, mailing tubes and other costs into the price of every paper print, Ross has developed a weight-based system for his products. This means that when you purchase two or three prints, you will only be charged for postage and packaging once, resulting in a much lower fee than if these costs were included in each print's price. Ross believes this approach is more transparent, fair, reasonable, and honest for our valued customers.
Postage of Stretched Canvases
Postage of larger parcels such as ‘Stretched Canvases’ is calculated by weight, volume and destination, by our carriers. In this instance, Ross has developed a system that includes the cost of packaging and shipping into the price of the item being purchased. Customers who purchase ‘Stretched Canvas’ products or ‘Framed’ products from Ross de Hoog at Fine Photos have peace of mind knowing that the price they see at the checkout includes all of the costs to get your ready-to-hang stretched canvas to your nominated delivery address including insurance.

Parcel Tracking
When your purchase is dispatched a tracking number is entered against your order and a confirmation email will be sent to your nominated email address. If your parcel is being carried by Australia Post you should also receive an email when the parcel is lodged into the Australia Post system. Responsibility for the tracking of your parcel, once it is dispatched, is with the customer and not with the artist. Tracking queries with Australia Post or our nominated courier or carrier needs to be made to the respective company and not the artist.
Unclaimed International Post
Unclaimed international Post will be returned to the artist by the relevant postal system in your country. The tracking and collection of all parcels sent by Ross de Hoog at Fine Photos is the sole responsibility of the customer. Ross de Hoog accepts no responsibility for parcels that have not been collected and are then returned by the postal system in your country. Ross de Hoog at Fine Photos accepts no responsibility financially or otherwise for return posting the parcel a second time as a result of it having been returned. Reposting of returned parcels can be arranged, however, costs associated with reposting will need to be paid by the customer.
Refunds for an uncollected and returned parcel may be offered but are conditional on the print or product being returned undamaged. Postage and packaging costs will be deducted from any negotiated refunds.
Please check the terms and conditions of the artist you purchase products from for their T&Cs re: unclaimed International Post as they may differ.
Items That Arrive Damaged
I’d love to say that parcels never arrive damaged. But from time to time, something happens that is out of our control and the carrier we’ve paid to deliver your purchase gets it wrong. Please keep in mind that we are not responsible for any damage that occurs in transit and that the damage was caused once the goods were in the hands of the carrier or their representive/s.
However, in the interests of good customer support. If you happen to receive a damaged parcel, please do the following.
Take several photographs of the parcel before opening it if you can see that there is obvious damage to the packaging.
Take photographs at stages of unwrapping and of the opened package.
Take photographs of any specific damage and of the whole item.
Contact us immediately. Email is best and please attach the photographs and tell us what you know.
You MUST then contact the carrier company/postal service in your state or country within 5 days of receipt and lodge a damage report and insurance claim. Please remember they caused the damage. and they will not act on our behalf. They want to deal with you as the receiver.
Please check the terms and conditions of the artist you purchase products from as they may differ.
